29 and holdin'

the birthday this year was absolutely amazing!! it only solidified the fact that i have the BEST friends in the world!! not only do they always humor me with my birthday week shenanigans, but they went to some pretty big trouble this year. i've already mentioned below my fun wednesday night. here we are at avo enjoying balsamic vinegar, wine and vodka, and raspberry and zinfandel martinis.

thursday night was my outing with work friends. do you know how long the workday is when you have a long holiday weekend ahead of you, plans to hang out with folks you love but haven't seen in a while, AND it's your birthday?? longest day ever. but totally worth it. i LOVE these girls (and my sugar daddy too)! we had a great time catching up and celebrating.

friday morning came early, but there were only more fun times to come. we hit the pool with a splash and just relaxed in the sun all day long. nothing beats a day at the pool just chillin' with some of your fave friends!

and on into the night came the big party!! while all of us were at the pool all day, tommy and justin were building the entertainment for the night. a slip n slide with a RAMP into a baby pool. how much fun is that??! i'm not gonna lie, when i first saw it, i got a little scared. it was gonna hurt! but that's okay because the amount of fun about to be had was going to be so worth any bruises, scratches, or soreness that we would end up with. the only word i have to describe it was A.MAZE.ING. (fully aware that amazing doesn't have an "e" in it, but had to add it for the effect!)

as if we weren't already acting like little children all night with all the playing around, MJ had to go and throw cake in my face. this turned into a HUGE battle which ended with cake up noses, in ears, all in the hair, and everywhere else! child's play? yes. so much fun? absofreakinlutely!!! loved every bit of it!! like i said in the beginning, i have the best friends in the whole world!

so when my actual birthday rolled around, i'm not gonna lie ~ i was a bit worn out. but the 4th was a day filled with my wonderful family and a few of my fave friends! dad cooked the best ribs ever, we had some BBQ, tons of other food, AND COOKIE CAKE!!!!!!!!!! after hanging out at the pool all day, i was exhausted so the fireworks had to be watched on television. i watched new york and boston and it was so much fun (even on tv!!!) with the neil diamond and the boston pops and the great patriotic songs.

so there's the brookeapalooza rewind. it's definitely up there as one of the best birthdays ever!! and now i'm 29 and holdin'..............
